Nkoto Masoabi scored in the first half to see Kick4Life record their second consecutive win as they edged Likhopo 1-0 in the Econet Premier League on Sunday at LCS grounds.
The Lesotho International’s 41st minute goal proved to be the winner as Kick4Life maintained their unbeaten run in 2018. The win is a major boost for the Old Europa side as they now find themselves on 23 points. For Masoabi, this was his 7th league goal and also the 3rd in two matches.
Bokang Mothoana and Motlalepula Chabeli caught Likhopo napping at the freekick but Fusi Ramone did well to stop the danger in the 15th minute. In the 23rd minute, Fidele Ntoya-Malonga released a shot outside the box but his efforts were deflected wide. A minute later Tsepang Mafatle tried his luck but he shot off target.
In the 37th minute, Mafatle found himself in good space in the box but his shot went straight into Sele Thetsane’s gloves. Two minutes later, Masoabi made an excellent cross to Tsepang Ntsenyane but the latter failed to keep his header down. With the home team now creating chances and missing slightly, it was just a matter of time before they could find the net as in the 41st minute, Ramone could not stop Masoabi’s ball from going in the net.
Half time: Kick4Life 1-0 Likhopo
When the game resumed from the interval, Kick4Life launched an early attack as Chabeli made a cut in from the left but Norman Kumatse was unfortunate to see his efforts blocked away with only 27 seconds of the second half.
In the 48th minute, Likhopo got away with a counter but Mpho Qobose’s cross was too high. Then in the 56th minute, Kumatse was disappointed to miss again after doing everything right in the box but it was only Ramone who stood on his way to deny him his first goal at Kick4Life.
Rasetabele Kalosane was introduced in the hour mark and he nearly changed the score tally to two in the 64th minute when Ramone made a mistake of passing the ball to Kick4Life’s Ntoya-Malonga.
With 14 minutes to play, people were left with mixed emotions when Mafatle released a bullet shot which missed the goals with inches, and K4L survived a late attack. The game ended 1-0, seeing Kick4Life collecting 6 points at Likhopo this season.
