Kick4Life scored two headers in the second half to clinch three points and return to their winning ways when they edged Liphakoe 2-1 in the Econet Premier League on Saturday afternoon at LDF grounds.
Khubetsoana Kamela scored his first premier league goal since joining Kick4Life while Fidele Ntoya-Malonga ended his long goal drought with a fine header to open the scoring. Kamela had a good game and he was more influential.
Liphakoe’s consolation came late in the game through Setho Moshoeshoe from the penalty kick. The win takes Leslie Notsi and his charges to 12points in the league, a big boost especially coming from a loss to Matlama last Saturday.
The team looked organised in all departments, both defensive and offensively and the combination of Thabo Masualle and Likano Teele left Liphakoe hit man Theo frustrated. Goalkeeper Monyatsi did well to deny Kamela on a one-on-one in the 16th minute.
Liphakoe then missed two chances with Thahane Mokhehle wasting a counter in the 24th minute before Moshoeshoe could roof over with the keeper away from his territory in the half hour mark.
Half Time: Liphakoe 0-0 Kick4Life
The visitors took the lead early in the second half, Ntoya-Malonga heading home Kamela’s corner. Signs of frustration could be seen in Liphakoe and were losing balls unnecessarily. Masoabi made a good run for the ball in the box and chipped over the keeper only for Kamela to produce a beautiful diving header to double the lead in the 60th minute.
Being 2 goals down, Liphakoe brought in two strikers, Lehlomela Ramabele and Tsepang Makapa, while Tsoarelo Mokoaleli brought more play in the midfield.
In the 79th minute, Moshoeshoe saw a good run of Ramabele behind defence but he was ruled offside. With 5 minute to go, the Quthing outfits were awarded a penalty for their efforts after Sorel Okoko handled the ball in the area and Moshoeshoe converted.
