Kick4Life Ladies finish second in the Super League for the third time in three years as they played out to a goalless draw with Mafeteng Sisters at Ratjomose on Saturday afternoon.
The closest either side came to a goal was when Tlali and Monokoane produced beautiful movements in front of the goal when Monokoane fired wide in the early minutes for the hosts, while Litseoane Maloro saw her 87th minute strike dealt with by the woodwork.
Mafeteng will be satisfied with the result as they played full 90 minutes with ten players. For Kick4Life, the outcome mean they will have to throw everything at their next opponents when they play their last fixture next week. LDF have however been crowned champions following their 7-0 victory over Sky Battalion.
This meant that the ladies from Old Europa are runners up for the third time in a row. The hosts started strongly and could have taken the lead in the 16th minute when Maloro’s grounder was denied by the post.
Mafeteng stood back and forced Kick4Life to play the long balls which they did well in clearing them. Kick4Life continued to create chances and lacked the final third. Signs of frustration could be seen as Rethabile Akhente missed out at goal moments before the break.
In the second stanza, Mafeteng continued to sit deep and frustrate Kick4Life who were looking now pinning in flames. Makobo Kepa fired a rocket shot in the 54th minute to force Maphorisa to make an excellent dive to deny the ball from going in.
The visitors then grew into the game as Makutoane was giving Pitso and Ntobo a run around at the back. She was unfortunate to miss slightly after the 70th minute when he volley landed in the roofing.
With 3 minutes to play, Maloro nearly turned things around at Ratjomose when she accepted the ball from Motsoeneng, and fired at the goal, only for Mafeteng to be rescued by the cross bar.
