Moshelenyane 2 (78, 84)
Kick4Life bowed out of the LNIG Top8 competition when they were beaten 3-1 by fellow Maseru citizens, Matlama on Sunday afternoon at LCS grounds.
K4L led 1-nil in the first leg at Maputsoe but conceded three at home. In overall they lost 3-2. The Old Europa side needed just a draw from this match to stay in the hunt and it looked to be real when Likano Teele’s header cancelled out Phafa Tsosane’s early strike.
However, the principality side immediately went back in front through Lebajoa Mosehlenyane’s second half brace. First scoring in the 78th minute before sealing victory for Tse Putsoa with six minutes to play.
Coach Leslie Notsi said they were made to pay for conceding schoolboy mistakes. “It’s a painful loss for us, we committed some schoolboy mistakes but there are some good attributes we can take from this game. Despite those mistakes, my charges still showed character, especially after conceding the first goal, we bounced back and eventually pulled one back,” he said.
Early in the second half, the home side missed couple of chances with Motlalepula Chabeli missing out at goals in the 49th minute, before Bokang Mothoana could force Monaheng Ramalefane into an excellent dive from the freekick in the 53rd minute.
Kick4Life, who finished fourth in this competition last season, will now shift their focus into the Premier League where they are still fighting for the top4 spot. At the moment, they are positioned fourth and visit LMPS next weekend.
